I want to thank Governor Paterson for following up on the suggestions that 26 of my Assembly colleagues and I made to him at our meeting in the Red Room last week. He has since met with members of the Assembly Democratic Conference and convened the first public leaders meeting in over two months. We’re hopeful that our actions may have jumpstarted the budget process and I’m looking forward to conference committees and productive budget negotiations to follow.
